Get ready for a shake-up at Sky! The British TV giant announced a big move—cutting 600 technician jobs. This is part of a bigger plan where a total of 900 jobs will be affected, making up around 2.5 percent of the whole workforce. Why? Because Sky is changing gears with some flashy new tech treats! Owned by US giant Comcast, Sky says it has poured tons of investment in the last three years to change how it works. Some star players in this makeover are Sky Glass—an ultra-high-definition TV, the cool Sky Stream decoder, and speedy fibre optics. “These products are now firmly established and used by millions of customers,” a Sky spokesperson declared proudly. Now, Sky’s focus is clear: beef up their existing services and bring even better entertainment and sports content to fans. This isn’t Sky’s first big cut—since 2023, about 3,000 jobs have already been trimmed, including satellite dish engineers and call center staff from three UK centers.
