In a revealing talk with Mid-Day, Neha shared how she and actor Angad Bedi quickly tied the knot after learning about the baby. Six months later, their daughter Mehr was born. Yet, instead of happy wishes, Neha faced a flood of questions: “Ye kaise ho gaya?” people kept asking in shock. Neha wasn’t the first actress to face this awkward spotlight. She told Mid-Day that she often sees comparisons with stars like Neena Gupta and Alia Bhatt, who were also trolled for getting pregnant before marriage. Calling all this chatter “ridiculous,” she said clearly: no one can decide when a woman should marry or have kids. For Neha, pregnancy is a beautiful, natural experience that needs no excuses. This negativity sparked Neha’s powerful campaign, Freedom to Feed. Through this initiative, she wants to open up honest talks about motherhood—breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, and all the struggles women quietly face. “These things should not stay hidden like secrets,” Neha said. “Women deserve safe spaces to share and feel supported.” And trolls won’t stop her from speaking out. But the hurdles didn’t end with words. Neha told Pinkvilla that some projects dropped her, saying she didn’t fit filming schedules after pregnancy. Later she found the same shoots carried on without her! Even friends in the fashion world turned away, refusing to dress her during her postpartum phase. That hurt deeply, but Neha stayed strong. Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi got married in a quiet Gurudwara ceremony on May 10, 2018. Their daughter Mehr arrived on November 18 that year, followed by their son Guriq in 2021. Through every judgment and rejection, Neha chose to battle with grit and laughter. For her, motherhood became a bold statement, paving a way for women’s freedom and acceptance in society.
