In a vibrant announcement, President Donald Trump revealed his choice for the next US Ambassador to India — none other than his trusted aide, Sergio Gor! At just 38, Gor is currently the Director of the White House Office of Presidential Personnel. Trump proudly shared on social media, "I am pleased to announce that I am promoting Sergio Gor to be our next United States Ambassador to the Republic of India." Calling him a "great friend, who has been at my side for many years," Trump's words show the depth of their partnership. But that’s not all! Gor will also take charge as Special Envoy for South and Central Asian affairs. Trump noted, "Gor has worked on my historic presidential campaigns, published my best-selling books, and ran one of the biggest Super PACs, which supported our movement." The President even called Gor’s role "essential" in fulfilling his political mission. Explaining why Gor fits perfectly for India, Trump said, "For the most populous region in the world, it is important that I have someone I can fully trust to deliver on my agenda and help us make America great again. Sergio will make an incredible Ambassador. Congratulations Sergio!" On his part, Gor expressed deep gratitude on social media: "I am beyond grateful to President Trump for his incredible trust and confidence in nominating me to be the next US Ambassador to India and Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs. It will be the honour of my life to represent the United States." Even Vice President JD Vance jumped in with praise, stating, Gor "will make a fantastic ambassador for our country to India." Gor is set to replace Eric Garcetti, who served as ambassador from May 2023 to January 2025.
