Amitabh Bachchan Opens Up on Aging Woes and Exciting New Films at 82

August 20, 2025

The great Amitabh Bachchan, now 82 years young, is opening his heart about getting older—and wow, it’s real! The legendary actor shared in his recent blog after meeting fans on August 17 that tasks now take extra effort. Doctors have even told him to sit while wearing trousers to keep steady! At home, he depends on handy handle bars to move safely. "The body gradually begins to lose its balance and there is a need to work on it to check and improve," Bachchan wrote. He explains how daily life now revolves around medicines, yoga, and slow, careful movement as much as work. What used to feel easy isn’t a cake walk anymore. "Just one day’s absence and the pains and the mobility goes for a very long walk," he admitted. The bravado to keep going strong is there, but reality bites. "Handle bars ..Oh boy.. !!!! you need them all over to hold and steady thy body before any physical act," he shared, calling bending to pick a paper a “major problem.” Amitabh warned us all: aging is universal. "IT SHALL HAPPEN .. TO ALL OF US .. The down trend begins at birth …Youth races through life’s challenges with aplomb ..Age .. suddenly speed brakes your vehicle and tells you, apply the brakes to avoid the accelerated bump when you drive the vehicle of LIFE." Despite the challenges, he stays thoughtful, saying fulfillment comes from finishing your purpose and preparing for what’s next—words inspired by his daughter Shweta’s chants. Work keeps Amitabh busy! He’s starring in Ribhu Dasgupta’s Section 84 with Diana Penty, Nimrat Kaur, and Abhishek Banerjee. No release date yet, but fans hold tight. Plus, he’s back as Ashwatthama in the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, alongside Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, and Deepika Padukone. Filming starts this December. Meanwhile, he’s the charming host of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 17 on SonyLIV, recently featuring guests Col Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh discussing the brave Operation Sindoor. Aging may slow the pace, but Amitabh Bachchan’s star keeps shining bright and strong!
