Michael Jordan's NASCAR team, 23XI Racing, co-owned with driver Denny Hamlin, just scored a thrilling courtroom win in North Carolina! A federal judge said no to NASCAR’s demand that the teams prove why they should not be punished for “manufactured evidence.” The judge slammed NASCAR’s motion, saying it did not help the case and seemed more about trying to sway public opinion than seeking real justice. This victory is a huge milestone in a long battle over whether NASCAR has too much power in the sport. Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin’s 23XI Racing joined hands with Front Row Motorsports, owned by Bob Jenkins, to challenge NASCAR. On August 7, 2025, NASCAR demanded the teams and their lawyers explain why they shouldn’t be punished for allegedly faking evidence. But just four days later, the judge rejected NASCAR’s demand, ruling it didn’t advance the lawsuit. “It appeared to seek a narrative rather than justice,” said the judge. The drama started back in October 2024 when 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports filed an antitrust lawsuit. They claimed NASCAR controls charters, racetracks, and suppliers unfairly, creating a monopoly in stock-car racing. A friendly judge, Kenneth Bell, gave the teams a preliminary win in December 2024, allowing them to race with guaranteed spots and earnings while the case continued. But the road got bumpier! In June 2025, an appellate court overturned that decision. The teams lost their guaranteed charter status and had to race as “open entries,” risking missing races and big money. Then on July 16, 2025, NASCAR fired a new salvo, accusing 23XI and Front Row of faking evidence and lying in court papers. The pressure kept rising, with a judge even suggesting both sides think about settling the case in June 2025. Still, Denny Hamlin stayed strong. Speaking in Dover, Delaware, he said the teams will keep racing as open entries and promised, “all will be exposed” when their December 1, 2025, trial begins. Will Michael Jordan’s team shake up NASCAR’s racing world? This courtroom battle is getting spicier by the day!
