Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has launched a new phone-in programme to handle public grievances. Starting February 7, the calls will be taken every Saturday from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., except on holidays. This is in addition to their existing Prajavani programme on Mondays. People living within the Outer Ring Road can call 040-29565750 or 040-29565759 to report issues like encroachment of lakes, parks, roads, and lands meant for public use. Citizens can also call these numbers to follow up on earlier complaints. HYDRAA chief A.V. Ranganath recently made a field visit to Kamuni Cheruvu lake at Kaitalapur. Locals informed him about sewage flow problems and a rise in mosquitoes caused by weed spread. They requested the agency to remove encroachments and develop the lake. Mr. Ranganath said, "I have instructed officials to examine the inlet and outlet of the lake and take up development works." He also promised to develop Turka Cheruvu in Bandari Layout, Nizampet. The agency aims to protect public lands and improve community resources through these actions.
