Plywood Factory and Car Caught Fire in Kerala; No Injuries Reported

A plywood factory at Puliyampilly near Vengola in Perumbavoor caught fire on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. The fire started around 10 a.m. and destroyed wood veneer, plywood, panel boards, and machinery. Thankfully, no one was injured. Eight firefighting units from Pattimattom, Perumbavoor, Aluva, Thrikkakara, Kothamangalam, and Muvattupuzha worked to put out the blaze. Later the same day, around 6:30 p.m., a moving car near Edappally Toll Junction also caught fire. The car owner was driving home when he saw smoke coming from the bonnet. He stopped quickly and escaped the vehicle safely before the fire engulfed it. Fire and rescue teams from Eloor and Thrikkakara arrived promptly and extinguished the car fire. These incidents caused alarm but no casualties. Authorities continue to investigate the causes behind both fires.
