Norway Crown Princess’s Son Faces Rape Trial with 38 Charges in Oslo
February 3, 2026
The trial of Norway's Crown Princess Mette-Marit's son, Marius Borg Høiby, starts Tuesday in Oslo. He faces 38 charges, including rape of four women, assaulting and threatening a girlfriend, damaging her flat, plus drug and driving offences. If guilty, Høiby could get more than 10 years in jail. On Sunday, police arrested him for the fourth time since August 2024. The case gains more attention as links between his mother and late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have emerged. The BBC's Europe digital editor, Paul Kirby, reported from outside the Oslo court. The video coverage was edited by Gabriela Boccaccio.
