Bhimavaram MLA Pulaparthi Ramanjaneyulu and other public representatives appealed to the Andhra Pradesh government to dredge Upputeru, an outlet of Kolleru Lake. They want to stop the flooding of crops and aquaculture ponds in West Godavari district. Mr. Ramanjaneyulu told Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu at the West Godavari District Development Review Committee meeting that the government could declare a crop holiday for this dredging work. Minister Ramanaidu said a fresh survey will soon be done for the Godavari delta modernisation and that farmers can report any irrigation issues. Narsapuram MLA Bommidi Naicker complained about poor irrigation upkeep and asked for the sluice gates in Narsapuram to be replaced. MLA Arimilli Radhakrishna demanded a retaining wall to strengthen the banks of the Gosthani river in Tanuku Assembly constituency. Other leaders, including Deputy Speaker R. Raghu Ramakrishna Raju, promised action on solid waste disposal problems in the district headquarters. Union Minister B. Srinivasa Varma said a two-acre dumping yard is planned for solid waste from Bhimavaram town and nearby areas. West Godavari In-Charge Minister Gottipati Ravikumar asked officials to submit proposals for more dumping yards and prepare plans for Godavari Pushkarams-2027. District Collector Chadalavada Nagarani announced that Ramakrishna Mission will donate 100 fishing boats to fisherfolk to help their livelihoods.
