A Noida court has granted bail to Ravi Bansal and Sachin Karanwal, employees of Lotus Greens Construction Private Limited, linked to the death of 27-year-old software engineer Yuvraj Mehta. The Chief Judicial Magistrate court in Surajpur released them on January 31, 2026, with a personal bond of ₹25,000 each. They were accused after Yuvraj drowned when his car fell into a waterlogged pit near a construction site in Sector 150, Noida, on the night of January 16-17. Advocate Manoj Bhati said the accused denied wrongdoing and were falsely implicated. "The court granted bail as the offence invoked in the case is bailable," he added. The court imposed conditions including cooperating with the investigation, not leaving the country without permission, and not tampering with evidence. Abhay Kumar, director of MZ Wiztown Planners, is also arrested and currently in judicial custody. FIRs cover culpable homicide not amounting to murder and causing death by negligence. Separate cases address environmental norm violations by the firms. A special investigation team appointed by the Uttar Pradesh Government is probing the case. The incident sparked public outrage and protests over alleged negligence by the developers and Noida Authority.
