A passenger plane with 15 people on board has disappeared in northern Colombia. The state airline Satena confirmed it lost contact with the Beechcraft 1900 minutes before it was to land in Ocaña, near the Venezuelan border. The plane took off from Cúcuta carrying 13 passengers and 2 crew members. Contact was lost at 11:54 local time, just before the scheduled landing at 12:05. A large search operation is underway in the mountainous area, involving Colombia's armed forces. The region is known to have areas controlled by the ELN guerrilla group. Satena has set up a hotline for the families of those on board. Local media say a Colombian lawmaker may have been among the passengers.
