Health Minister Ma. Subramanian inaugurated new healthcare facilities worth ₹4.07 crore in Villupuram and Kottakuppam on Wednesday. He opened a pay ward built at a cost of ₹48 lakh at the Government Villupuram Medical College and Hospital. The Minister also launched the Emergency Care and Recovery Centre, established for ₹11.10 lakh at the hospital. Additionally, a digital X-ray facility and new buildings for primary health centres in Kedar and Kottakuppam were inaugurated. The Minister stated that construction is underway for a 100-bed Critical Care Unit and more infrastructure at the hospital. The District Headquarters Hospital in Tindivanam has been completed at a cost of ₹69 crore. Similarly, the Maternity and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit was built for ₹6.89 crore. These will be inaugurated soon, he added. Villupuram Collector Sheik Abdul Rahman and senior officials attended the event.
