Subba Reddy raised the issue in the assembly, saying that lawmakers face difficulties and embarrassing moments proving their identity despite free toll access. Members from different parties supported his views. Leader of the Opposition R. Ashok also noted that reserved toll booths for ambulances and exempted persons like legislators and MPs often remain closed. Speaker Khader said, "There are different norms related to FASTags as they come under the purview of the Centre." Therefore, he will convene a meeting of officials to discuss the proposal further.
