A boat carrying 25 French tourists capsized near Muscat, Oman, today. The accident happened in the Wilayat of Muttrah during a guided tour. The boat also had a local guide and the captain on board. Emergency teams from the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority rushed to the scene to help. Three tourists died in the incident. Two others were hurt but only slightly; they received treatment on site before being cleared. The rest of the passengers made it to safety. The Royal Oman Police posted on X that the cause of the capsizing is still unknown. They said investigations are ongoing, with maritime authorities involved. Officials added they are supporting survivors and families of the deceased as the probe continues.
