The ABC News Facebook page, with 4.9 million followers, was briefly hacked on Tuesday. The hacker posted two suggestive photos of OnlyFans adult content creators, British star Bonnie Blue and Lily Phillips. The cover image showed Bonnie Blue in a pink bikini. Alongside these was an unflattering picture of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese eating a hotdog. The ABC quickly deleted the images and comments. Some ABC viewers were confused and asked, "Where’s Bonnie gone?" and "Bring Back Bonnie," but these messages were also removed. Bonnie Blue had made headlines last year after claiming she slept with 1,057 men in 12 hours and was banned from OnlyFans. ABC News confirmed the breach saying, "Earlier today, a compromised staff account resulted in unauthorised access to the ABC News Facebook page, where several images were briefly posted." They added, "Access was quickly secured, the content removed, and an investigation is under way to review and strengthen our security controls." ABC is Australia’s most trusted news organisation and currently the country’s most popular digital news site with 12.9 million monthly visitors. Though ABC scaled down most of its social media accounts on X (formerly Twitter) in 2023, it remains active on Facebook and has recently invested in content for TikTok and Instagram by hiring new creators.
