The Bandepalya police have arrested 11 accused in the murder of notorious rowdy Shabbir in Bengaluru. The case arose from a long-running dispute over extortion and property. Deputy Commissioner of Police M. Narayan said Shabbir was demanding 'hafta' from traders, including scrap shop owners, and wanted to take over a property near a mosque in Bandepalya. Shabbir pressured Sunny, the property owner's brother, and threatened to build a compound wall on the land. Facing these threats, Sunny and his group planned to kill Shabbir. They plotted the murder for a week in a garage. On the day of the murder, the accused threw chilli powder in Shabbir's eyes and then attacked him with weapons. After killing him, they fled by autorickshaw to K.R. Puram, abandoned the weapons elsewhere, and went to different cities like Mumbai, Rajasthan, and Hyderabad. Special police teams tracked down and arrested all 11 across various states. Due to the crime's seriousness, the police expect to apply the Karnataka Control of Organised Crime Act (KCOCA) against the accused.
