Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Chief Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao has ordered immediate action on the Ejipura flyover project near St. John’s Medical College Hospital. He directed officials to mark land urgently and start installing five portal piers along Ejipura Main Road. The piers will be built on the footpath next to St. John’s compound wall. This requires a small piece of the hospital's land on the left side of Ejipura Main Road toward Ejipura, moving from Kendriya Sadan. During a meeting with traffic police and St. John’s Hospital reps, the hospital agreed to provide the needed land. Mr. Rao told engineers and contractors to mark the area and begin work without delay. He also instructed that safety barricades be set up for public protection and sufficient space be used to store building materials until the project’s end. After building the portal piers, the hospital’s compound wall must be rebuilt immediately. On the flyover ramp land at St. John’s stretch, the Chief Commissioner asked officials to speed up the Transferable Development Rights (TDR) process, take quick land possession, and complete the work swiftly. According to GBA, the 2.38-km Ejipura flyover on Ejipura Main Road is moving fast. Of 762 total segments required, 645 have been cast, and 490 have been erected. Only 117 segments remain to be cast.
