Republic Day 2026: Flag Hoisting and Parades Across Nandyal, Kurnool, and Anantapur

Republic Day 2026 saw vibrant celebrations across Nandyal, Kurnool, and Anantapur districts. On January 26, the national flag was hoisted at government offices, schools, and cultural groups. In Nandyal, Collector Rajakumari Ganiya unfurled the flag at the Government Degree College. The parade included police contingents and department tableaux showing local progress in agriculture and irrigation. Notably, the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple tableau from Srisailam participated for the first time and won second prize. Temple chairman Pothugunta Ramesh Naidu and executive officer M. Srinivasa Rao hoisted the flag in Srisailam. In Kurnool, Collector Dr. A. Siri hoisted the flag and honored freedom fighters' families. Viswa Vani, the first woman in the state trained under PM-AJAY to drive heavy vehicles, impressively drove an RTC bus during the parade and received a certificate. Celebrations also took place at the Human Rights Commission and Lokayukta offices. At IIITDM Kurnool, Registrar Dr. J. Krishnaiah raised the flag and stressed patriotism through education, discipline, and service, reflecting the national theme “150 years of Vande Mataram.” A Blood Donation Camp added a social touch to the event. In Anantapur, In-charge Collector C. Vishnu Charan participated in the Republic Day event held at the Police Parade Grounds. The day was marked by proud displays of unity and growth across these districts.
