Massive Explosives Haul in Nagaur, Man Arrested Ahead of Republic Day
January 26, 2026
Rajasthan Police seized a huge 9,550 kg cache of ammonium nitrate from a farm in Nagaur's Harsaur village on January 24 night. Police arrested Suleman Khan, a local resident, at the spot. Nagaur Superintendent of Police Mridul Kachhawa said the explosives were packed in 187 sacks. Alongside ammonium nitrate, police found detonators, blue and red fuse wires.
Ammonium nitrate is linked to serious blast cases, including the November 2025 Red Fort explosion near Delhi. Suleman Khan has three past criminal cases against him. Preliminary investigations show he was supplying explosives to legal and illegal miners.
A case has been registered under the Explosives Act. Central agencies have been informed and will question Suleman as part of a wider investigation. This major seizure comes ahead of Republic Day, boosting security efforts in the region.
