Karnataka SEC to Publish Final Voters List for Bengaluru Corporations on March 30
January 24, 2026
The Karnataka State Election Commission (SEC) has set March 30 as the date to publish the final ward-wise voters list for the five city corporations under the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA). The SEC issued a revised circular on January 22 detailing the schedule for finalising electoral rolls. The list will be prepared using the current Assembly electoral rolls without any fresh enumeration.
The SEC requires 100% verification of the voter lists by Voter Registration Officers, who must send a verification letter to the Commission. Additionally, District Election Officers and Corporation Commissioners must independently verify 10% of each ward's voter lists and submit certification.
GBA Chief Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao, speaking at a Saturday meeting, stressed the importance of following rules and maintaining transparency. He urged officials to inspect ward boundaries carefully to prevent confusion. Electoral Registration Officers were told to devote two to three hours daily to election duties. Booth Level Officers will carry out door-to-door verification for adding, correcting, or deleting names, ensuring full documentation of changes.
