Kerala has secured investment commitments worth $14 billion, or ₹1.18 lakh crore, during the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos. Industries Minister P. Rajeeve announced this impressive figure on Thursday. The state is focusing on turning expressions of interest into firm investments. These funds come from global investors from the U.S., U.K., Germany, Italy, Spain, and Africa. The proposed investments cover many areas: renewable energy, GCC, skill development, financial services, tourism, wellness, medical infrastructure, and medical device manufacturing. Kerala is also proud to be India’s first fully digitally literate state and has declared internet access a basic right. Minister Rajeeve said the state respects its fragile ecology with the slogan ‘nature, people, industry’. Kerala has adopted a new industrial policy alongside the country’s first environmental social governance policy. This move shows the state’s commitment to sustainable growth.
