KSCA Rolls Out Safety Plans for IPL 2026 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium
January 22, 2026
The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) is set to boost safety at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium for IPL 2026. They will create large holding areas and separate lines for women and children. KSCA secretary Santosh Menon said the vast KSCA ‘B’ ground and tennis courts near the stadium will hold spectators before entry. This keeps fans inside the premises, reducing road crowding.
Entry gates will widen to six meters for smooth access. “The police recommended that we have only two entry gates on Queens Road and move the rest to Cubbon Road,” Mr. Menon said. This move aims to reduce traffic jams caused by the old service gate near Minsk Square.
To help fans reach higher seats easily, ramps will be built inside the stadium. KSCA promises that all safety measures from the Justice John Michael Cunha report will be fully implemented by February's end. With government approval, hopes rise that Royal Challengers Bengaluru will host IPL 2026 home games here, easing fears after last year's stampede during IPL celebrations.
These plans mark a clear effort to deliver a safer, better-managed environment for cricket fans at this iconic venue.
