January 21, 2026
Silent Screams: The Lost Girls of Telangana is a new 57-minute true crime documentary streaming on Sun Nxt. It reveals three harsh cases of violence against women in rural Telangana and one major case from Hyderabad. The film mixes English, Telugu, and Hindi to tell these stories filled with pain and courage.
Produced by Pranav Pingle Reddy and directed by Arvind Menon, the documentary started from deep research over three years. The team gathered over 100 stories from journalists, police, and social workers before picking the most touching ones. The documentary shows how families of victims silently suffer and fight for justice.
The film begins with a moving voiceover by actor and musician Shruti Haasan. Her narration helps bring attention to women’s hidden struggles across Telangana. Pranav Pingle Reddy said, “Her voice has helped amplify the stories of several women and their families who are silently screaming for justice.”
The cases include a heartbreaking story of a young woman in Delhi who lost her family in a brutal murder of nine relatives. The team gained families’ trust before sharing their painful stories. They also spoke openly with police officers to explore different views.
Mirage Media funded the project partly through earnings from corporate works, showing their strong commitment to telling these urgent stories. Pranav also said, “In the long run when we make profits, we plan to share it with the families of the victims.”
Silent Screams will also be screened at the Hyderabad Literary Festival 2026, on January 26 at 3:45 pm at District 150, Sattva Knowledge City.
This documentary brings to light the silent screams of victims and invites viewers to understand and act against violence on women in Telangana and beyond.
