Rani Kapur, mother of the late businessman Sunjay Kapur, has filed a suit in the Delhi High Court. She seeks the cancellation of the RK Family Trust. Rani Kapur alleges that Priya Kapur, wife of Sunjay Kapur, fraudulently created the trust to divert family assets. "My late son was either manipulated into this arrangement or used as a channel," Rani Kapur stated in her plea. She believed the RK Family Trust was a simple rename of an earlier trust where she was the sole beneficiary. However, she claims she only discovered after Sunjay’s death that the trust excluded her and gave benefits to other family members. Through her suit, she demands cancellation of the trust and restoration of her estate. She says the trust was formed through misrepresentation, undue influence, and without her informed consent.
