Telangana ACB Raids 10 Places in Bribery, Assets Case Against Collector A. Venkat Reddy
January 21, 2026
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, conducted raids at 10 locations across Telangana. These searches relate to a fresh disproportionate assets case against the suspended Hanumakonda Additional Collector (Revenue), A. Venkat Reddy. He was caught last month while taking a bribe. The ACB teams searched his homes in Rock Town Colony, L.B. Nagar, Manchirevula Villas, and other places in Hyderabad, Rangareddy, and Warangal districts. The probe focuses on allegations that Venkat Reddy accumulated assets far beyond his known income sources. On December 5, 2025, the ACB Warangal Range Unit trapped Venkat Reddy accepting ₹60,000 bribe inside the Integrated District Officers Complex. The bribe was paid via Kanneboina Manoj, a junior assistant at the District Education Officer's office, to speed up file processing for renewing recognition of Creative Model School’s primary and high school sections. Investigations also found that senior assistant Mohd Ghousuddin had earlier demanded the same bribe amount for official favors. Following this, on December 6, the ACB conducted early morning raids at Venkat Reddy's residence. Over ₹30.3 lakh cash, land documents, and bank locker details were seized. Based on these findings, the ACB filed a disproportionate assets case on January 21, 2026, and launched these surprise inspections. The inquiry is ongoing.
