A national-level workshop titled “R Programming and AMOS for Data Analysis and Visualisation” began at Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) in Kakatur, SPSR Nellore district, on Monday, January 19, 2026. The Department of Tourism Management and Statistics hosts this week-long workshop, funded by PM–USHA (Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan). After opening the event, VSU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Allam Srinivasa Rao said, "In the present digital era, data analysis and visualisation skills have become crucial in both research and industry. Gaining proficiency in modern software tools such as R Programming and AMOS would enable students and researchers to compete at the international level." Dr. K. Suneetha, In-charge Registrar of VSU, highlighted the importance of practical skills by saying, "Theoretical knowledge alone is not sufficient, and strong technical skills are equally important in today’s job market." She also noted that workshops like this improve analytical abilities for students and researchers. Experts from well-known institutions delivered key lectures on the first day, marking a strong start to the programme.
