January 19, 2026
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal said new Sri Venkateswara temples will be built in Guwahati, Patna, Coimbatore, and Belgaum. This will help spread the Bhakti tradition and strengthen devotion among devotees. State governments have approved land for these temples. The project follows directions from Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. Mr. Singhal stressed the need to take land possession soon before the TTD Trust Board meeting. He also ordered engineers to inspect the old Pilgrim Amenities Complex at Rishikesh. An action plan is to be ready by February for building a new complex. On staffing, he directed issuing appointment orders to 536 selected Veda Parayanadars across temples. Previously, 164 Veda Parayanadars had joined TTD temples. Officials will hold online exams in April to fill Assistant Engineer posts in the Engineering wing. Training for 150 Archakas and 68 Potu workers will be done in three phases during February. Currently, Annadanam (free food service) operates in 56 temples. Mr. Singhal instructed plans to serve Annadanam twice daily in all temples by March. Joint Executive Officer V. Veerabrahmam, Financial Advisor O. Balaji, Chief Engineer T. V. Satyanarayana, and other officials attended the meeting.
