Rajkumar Dhannur, a guest lecturer in Journalism at Gulbarga University, has filed a complaint with the Vice-Chancellor, claiming the Registrar, Ramesh Londonkar, threatened him. Dhannur said he has taught full-time for seven years but saw his teaching hours suddenly cut for the 2026 academic year. When he asked the Registrar for an explanation, Dhannur alleges he received abuse and threats that left him scared and mentally disturbed. He asked the university for protection. Registrar Londonkar denied these accusations. He stated, "I have had no role in the appointment of guest lecturers or in marks allocation. These decisions are made by a committee including the Dean and subject experts. The Registrar's office only endorses their recommendations." Londonkar added that when he tried to explain this to Dhannur, the lecturer was rude and verbally abusive. "I warned him that I will call the police as I felt threatened," he said. Following this, Dhannur left the office. The university has yet to comment further. This complaint highlights tensions within Gulbarga University’s faculty appointments, as Dhannur seeks safety and answers.
