Kerala's Kannur airport has launched faster flight connections to London Heathrow, making long-haul travel easier for residents of north Kerala and neighboring regions. Air India Express offers a daily flight via Bengaluru. The Kannur-Bengaluru flight leaves at 10:15 a.m., arriving at 11:25 a.m., connecting with Air India's wide-body London flight at 2:10 p.m., which lands at Heathrow by 7:30 p.m. The return journey departs London at 9:05 p.m., lands in Bengaluru at 12:20 p.m. the next day, and reaches Kannur the following morning. IndiGo starts its Kannur-London Heathrow service via Delhi from February 6. This operates four days a week – Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday. The flight departs Kannur at 6:05 a.m., reaching Delhi by 8:55 a.m. It then connects to the Delhi-London flight at 11:55 a.m., arriving in London at 5:10 p.m. The return flight leaves London at 7:10 p.m., lands in Delhi at 10:10 a.m. the next day, and connects to Kannur by midnight. Airport officials say these new connections offer better passenger comfort with enhanced seating, inflight amenities, and higher baggage limits. They avoid multiple international stopovers, saving time and hassle. These services aim to greatly benefit NRIs, business travelers, students, and tourists, while also boosting tourism inbound to Kannur.
