Burglars Steal Gold, Silver, and Cash from PDS Staff House in Vaniyambadi

Burglars struck at the home of a Public Distribution System (PDS) staff member in Natrampalli village near Vaniyambadi, Tirupattur. They stole 20 sovereigns of gold jewellery, 800 grams of silver objects, and ₹20,000 in cash on Sunday. The victim, S. Vijayakumar, 46, works as a salesman at a fair price outlet in the village. Vijayakumar, originally from Ramanaickanpettai near Vaniyambadi, was away at his native village for Pongal festival with his family.
Upon their return, they found cupboards and an almirah broken, and valuables missing. Vijayakumar immediately informed Natrampalli police, who arrived quickly with forensic experts. Fingerprints were collected, and police reviewed footage from the nearby areas.
Superintendent of Police V. Shyamala Devi has formed four special teams to track down the burglars. A case has been registered and the investigation is ongoing.
