Central University of Karnataka Wins Top IEEE MAPCON 2025 Award

The Central University of Karnataka has won the Best Large Chapter Award at IEEE MAPCON 2025. This award is for the IEEE MTT-S Student Branch and was chosen from 12 large chapters worldwide. IEEE MAPCON 2025 is a big global conference on radio frequency and microwave engineering. It was held in Kochi, Kerala. The event saw participation from 45 countries with over 1,800 delegates and 250 experts from top academic institutions, research labs, and industries.
The conference was inaugurated by ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan, DRDO Director-General B.K. Das, and NASA scientist Gautam Chattopadhyay. From the Central University, Dean Paramesha and Nrusingha C. Pradhan from the Electronics and Communication Engineering department attended the event and served as session chairs. Mr. Pradhan was also on the core organising team and received a travel grant of ₹1.52 lakh for his efforts.
Eighteen students from the university served as conference volunteers after a tough national-level selection. They received support for registration, accommodation, and travel. Sowjanya, a student, won ₹80,000 as a special award to attend the conference.
After the event, faculty and students met with Vice-Chancellor Battu Satyanarayana. He congratulated everyone and encouraged continued contributions to national research goals.
