January 18, 2026
Kalaburagi district has become Karnataka's top performer in using the e-Office system to fast-track file disposal in government offices. Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, IT-BT Minister and district in-charge Priyank Kharge announced the achievement in a media note on Saturday. The Kalaburagi Zilla Panchayat created 2,938 e-files and disposed of 54,381 files in 2025. Additionally, 13,664 public applications were handled through the e-receipt system. "The objective of implementing the e-Office system is to make government offices more citizen-friendly and to prevent people from having to make repeated visits to government offices. Assigning accountability to officers and staff for time-bound disposal of files through e-Office has yielded results. The district is now in the forefront of administrative reforms," said Mr. Kharge. At the state level, Kalaburagi topped e-file creation, followed by Chitradurga and Bengaluru Urban. Four districts from the Kalyana Karnataka region, including Kalaburagi, ranked in the top 10. At the taluk panchayat level, Aland and Afzalpur from Kalaburagi district also ranked among the top performers statewide. Zilla Panchayat CEO Bhanwar Singh Meena expressed satisfaction and said that digital signatures are now used to speed up file processing. He praised staff efforts and urged lower-level workers to continue quick responses to public grievances. Kalaburagi's strong performance in e-Office use is setting a model for governance.
