Dubai Creek Tower Revival: Emaar to Launch New Construction Tender Soon
January 18, 2026
Dubai’s famous Creek Tower will soon rise again. Emaar Properties, led by founder Mohamed Alabbar, announced plans to start a new construction tender within three months. This project, once set to be taller than Burj Khalifa, had paused due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Originally designed by architect Santiago Calatrava, the tower was to be the highlight of Dubai Creek Harbour. However, pandemic uncertainty forced Emaar to rethink the plan. Now, the company has revamped the tower's design and is ready to move forward. Speaking at the Dubai International Project Management Forum, Alabbar said the tower “is no longer dormant.” Emaar’s new approach includes a competitive bidding process to select builders. This signals a fresh wave of activity in Dubai’s ultra-modern skyline and brings hope for the return of an iconic landmark.
