Nearly 100 Teams Shine at Hassan's School Science Festival and Ramanujam Spark Quest

The Hindu School Science Festival and Ramanujam Spark Quest were held at Royale Apollo International School in Hassan on January 16. Nearly 100 teams of students from classes 6 to 10 across Hassan district showcased their projects with full enthusiasm. The projects focused on topics such as waste management, disaster management, renewable energy, and rainwater harvesting. Some students presented models with sensors designed to prevent disasters.
T.C. Taranath, Vice-Chancellor of Hassan University, inaugurated the festival and praised the student projects. An expert in environmental biology, Prof. Taranath interacted with students, especially those with waste and disaster management models. He encouraged the students to develop their ideas further and suggested they aim to secure patents in the future. In his inaugural speech, he urged students to choose careers based on their strengths and weaknesses and to keep upgrading their knowledge and skills.
B. Pushparaj, Academic Director of Excellent Moodubidire, said his institution supports students interested in basic science along with professional courses. L.P. Ravi Kumar, CEO of Royale Apollo International, and other dignitaries were also present.
The jury, including professors Vijay S., Shivakumar P., Prashanth Kumar, Latha Kulkarni, and Ranjit C. Gowda, said selecting the top 10 projects was tough due to the quality displayed.
The first prize of ₹5,000 went to Tanisha H.T and Mrudula Mahesh of Vijaya School, Hassan. Second prize of ₹3,000 was awarded to Yuktashree R. and Ananya Deekshith K.L of Christ School, Hassan. The third prize of ₹2,000 went to Dishan K.V and Kiran Gowda H.J of Royale Apollo International School. Several teams received consolation prizes.
The Ramanujam Spark Quest had about 175 student participants. Five students from each class won prizes, including Dheeraj Chandra J., Samarth Srinivasamurthy, and others.
Excellent Moodubidire sponsored the event title while Royale Apollo International was the venue sponsor.
