January 16, 2026
On the night of January 15, 2026, Pakistani drones were spotted hovering near the Indo-Pak border in the Poonch and Samba districts of Jammu and Kashmir. Security forces activated their anti-unmanned aerial system (anti-UAS) to respond effectively. Sources said one drone was near posts along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch, prompting anti-UAS measures. Another drone was sighted along the International Border in Samba’s Ramgarh sector. Troops continue to be on high alert along the Pakistan border. Earlier, on Tuesday night, army personnel fired shots to intercept multiple suspected Pakistani drones that crossed the LoC into Rajouri district.
