Texas Lawyer Wrongly Accused of Approving 700,000 H-1B Visas; USCIS Handles Approvals
January 14, 2026
A viral video on X claims Dallas attorney Chand Parvathaneni approved 700,000 H-1B visas since 2020. This sparked anger among the MAGA base calling for the H-1B programme's suspension. However, this claim is misleading. Immigration lawyers like Parvathaneni do not approve visas. Only the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) approves or rejects H-1B petitions. Lawyers just prepare and file applications for employers.
Data from MyVisaJobs shows Parvathaneni linked to over 20,000 Labour Condition Applications since 2020. Though high, it reflects his focus on employment-based immigration and filings for IT firms in Dallas-Fort Worth.
The video also points out multiple IT firms sharing the same residential addresses in suburbs like Irving, Frisco, and Plano. It alleges a "99% suspicion rate" with 3,000+ fake or shared addresses. But these numbers are not official. No government agency has declared these filings fraudulent. The data is from user analysis, not the Department of Labor or USCIS.
Shared or home addresses can seem suspicious but are not automatically illegal. Small or startup IT firms may operate legally from homes.
There is no proof that Parvathaneni faces any criminal charges or professional sanctions. Texas Bar and court records show no action against him as of January 2026. He remains licensed and advocates for compliance.
While real visa fraud cases were uncovered in Texas in 2025, those involved other parties with no confirmed link to Parvathaneni. USCIS has responded with more audits, site visits, and lottery reforms to stop abuse nationwide.
