The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India launched the “Inspiring Innovators-Naye Bharat Ki Nayi Pehchaaan” program on January 13, 2026. This skilling initiative, developed with the Netflix Fund for Creative Equity and implemented with Graphiti Studios, aims to unite India's innovation and creative sectors through storytelling and practical skill-building. Minister of State L. Murugan said, “Guided by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this is the right time to create in India and create for the world, with content, creativity, and culture emerging as key pillars of the Bharat economy.” He added, “As storytelling enters a new era shaped by creators and emerging technologies, initiatives like Inspiring Innovators highlight how creativity can be applied in service of society.” Ajay Kumar Sood, PSA, explained the program's goal to spotlight socially relevant innovation while strengthening skills and knowledge. The initiative brings together startups and students, supported by Netflix Fund and industry mentors, creating a holistic creative approach. I&B Secretary Sanjay Jaju noted, “India was witnessing remarkable innovation, often driven by social innovators solving everyday challenges through impactful, purpose-led solutions.” He emphasized the importance of embracing AI-led narratives for future growth. Mahima Kaul, Netflix India’s director of Global Affairs, said, “At Netflix, we are committed to the skilling and upskilling of India’s young and vibrant creative ecosystem. Inspiring Innovators reflects a shared commitment to recognising innovation that delivers real social value.” The initiative features eight Indian startups recognized by the Office of the PSA for their social-impact innovations. Their stories are told via eight short animated films created by students from universities such as the National Institute of Design, Chitkara University, and the Satyajit Ray Institute of Film and Television. This move aims to showcase India’s vibrant promise in creative innovation and social change.
