The Kerala High Court on Tuesday admitted a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Kerala Students Union State president Aloshious Xavier. He accused the Kerala government of misusing public money to run the door-to-door survey called 'Nava Kerala Citizen Response Programme' before the upcoming state elections. The court has ordered the government to submit an affidavit explaining the matter by January 21. The petitioner said, "The survey that began earlier this month was a blatant misuse of public funds and the government machinery for a partisan political campaign disguised as an administrative exercise."
