The Kollam Vigilance court on Tuesday postponed hearing of senior Tantri Kandararu Rajeevaru's bail application to January 19. The court asked the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to submit a complete report by that date. The SIT informed the court that Rajeevaru is now an accused in a second case involving gold taken from the Dwarapalaka sculptures. The court gave SIT permission to arrest him in this new case. Rajeevaru is already in custody for a case where gold-plated door frames of the temple were allegedly swapped with copper panels. Additionally, the court extended the remand of A. Padmakumar, former president of the Travancore Devaswom Board, by 14 more days.
