Students of Government Higher Secondary School in Pottassery, near Mannarkkad in Palakkad, have created the official theme song for the 2026 State School Arts Festival. The festival will start on January 14. This song was composed, written, and sung entirely by the students. It was selected from entries across the state in a competition held by the General Education Department. The lyrics were written by V. Praful Das, a Plus Two student who had also written the theme song for the State School Sports Meet. He is also the chairman of the school parliament and leader of the school's NSS unit. The song celebrates Kerala's natural beauty and the diverse art forms in the festival, which has a 64-year history. The music was composed by students Hridhya Krishna and Akshay V.K. A chorus of students including Muhammed Fayis P.K., Hridhya Krishna, Sooraj Chandran A., Abel Binoy, Joel Michael, Lakshmika K., Gatha Krishna K., and Vishnudath C.P. performed the song's introduction. School leaders called this recognition a proud moment for their rural school, showing that talent thrives outside cities. Higher Education Minister R. Bindu met the students to congratulate them and praised their achievement on social media, turning their local success into a state celebration.
