Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) handled 43.82 million passengers in 2025, marking an 8% increase from the previous year. On November 23, 2025, the airport recorded its highest single-day passenger count of 1,37,317. Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL), the operator, said air traffic movements (ATMs) peaked at 837 on October 19, with an average of 765 daily ATMs throughout the year.
In October 2025, KIA moved up from third to second place in domestic flight operations among Indian airports. The average number of daily international departures rose from 38 in 2024 to 51 in 2025, reflecting a 28.7% year-on-year growth in international passenger traffic. By the end of 2025, KIA connected to 113 destinations, including 79 domestic and 34 international cities. Top domestic routes included Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Pune, while Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, London Heathrow, and Kuala Lumpur were main international hubs.
The airport also managed 5,20,985 tonnes of cargo in 2025, a 5% increase from 2024. The highest single-day cargo handling was 2,207 tonnes on August 7, 2025. KIA connects to 37 cargo destinations served by 15 domestic and international cargo airlines. Leading export markets were Chicago, Singapore, London Heathrow, Frankfurt, and Leipzig. Key import markets included Shenzhen, Shanghai, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Major cargo items driving growth were agri-perishables, pharmaceuticals, auto parts, electronics, and e-commerce shipments.
