The Congress party will hold a day-night protest in front of Lok Bhavan on January 13 and 14. This protest opposes the Union government’s new VB-G RAM G law, which replaces the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). The protest is part of a larger 45-day nationwide agitation started by Congress this week. The event will start at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, led by All India Congress Committee general secretary K.C. Venugopal. Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president Sunny Joseph will preside over the protest. Important leaders including Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan, AICC general secretary Deepa Dasmunshi, and Congress Working Committee members Ramesh Chennithala will also join. The protest will continue through the night and conclude at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
