On January 10, Mysuru City Corporation organised a cleanliness drive at Kukkarahalli Lake as part of the Swachh Survekshan campaign. National Service Scheme and National Cadet Corps students from five local institutes joined the effort. Volunteers from Mysore Grahakara Parishat and Clean Mysuru Foundation also contributed actively. The drive collected 410 kg of waste from the lake area. Alongside the drive, a drawing competition was held for schoolchildren from KP Convent, St. Paul’s School, Little Infant School, Amrutha Vidyalaya, Vidyavardhaka School, and Pragathi Vidyalaya. The children expressed creativity on themes of cleanliness and environmental care. Officials including Mysuru City Corporation’s Swachh Bharat Mission Nodal Officer Mrutyunjaya K.S. and Assistant Executive Engineer Meenakshi were present. Prizes were awarded to winners Veena Kumari (KP Convent, Class 5), Harshith G. (Pragathi Vidyakendra, Class 7), and Anvitha (Amrutha Vidyalaya, Class 4). Certificates were also handed out to all participants. The event showed close cooperation between students, volunteers, and civic workers to clean the city and spread awareness.
