The Kurnool Transport Department has issued a strong warning to bus operators against raising ticket prices during the festival rush. Deputy Transport Commissioner S. Shantha Kumari told contract carriage and tourist bus operators not to exploit passengers by charging extra. She also demanded that every bus service must have a second driver and follow all road safety measures. "Cases will be registered against bus managements if they do not follow road safety norms," Ms. Shantha Kumari said. She stressed that buses must have valid fitness certificates, permits, insurance, and pollution certificates. Safety equipment like emergency exits, fire extinguishers, safety hammers, and a first aid kit are mandatory. Additionally, buses must display the helpline number 9281607001 clearly for passengers. The transport department is set to take strict action if these rules are violated.
