Kolkata’s India Autism Centre Unveils Clinical Software for Neurodivergent Therapy Tracking
January 10, 2026
Kolkata-based India Autism Centre (IAC) is developing a clinical care software to track and evaluate therapy progress for neurodivergent people. The software will hold client details such as age, support needs, therapy activities, daily skills like eating and dressing, nutrition, vocational tasks, and behavior incidents. These records are stored anonymously with prior consent. IAC CEO Jaishankar Natarajan told The Hindu, “Our clinical care software is one of the first of its kind in the country. We are trying to map the life cycle of the child end-to-end. Right from the time she/he enters the campus, their assessments, their goals, activities of daily living, and progress made will be mapped on the software.” He added the software acts like a "living digital diary" and that data is used only to improve care, "not for surveillance or control." The software will debut at Samaavesh, IAC’s new 50-acre residential care campus in Joka, set to start in November 2026. Samaavesh will shelter over 600 neurodivergent individuals, offering 24/7 therapy and living support. Natarajan said the campus links trained staff, clients, and researchers to better understand progress and intervention impact. He noted inspiration from Amar Seva Sangam’s model in Tamil Nadu and said their team advises on the software. Alongside software, IAC invests in research on autism, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental disorders, training caregivers to serve in Samaavesh and beyond.
