A 37-year-old labourer named Ajay Dalai was found dead inside a workers' camp at a construction site in Gachibowli on Saturday morning, January 3, 2026. Dalai, who had joined the SAS Infra labour camp just a week ago, lived in a room at the camp located in Nanakramguda. The discovery was made around 6 a.m. when the camp’s security guard, Mani, noticed Dalai lying motionless and called the labour colony in-charge, Vakkanti Naveen. Naveen rushed to the site and confirmed that Dalai was dead. In his petition to the police, Naveen said, "Dalai had dinner with other labourers on January 2 and went to sleep around 9 p.m., but was found motionless the next morning." The police found no signs of disturbance or struggle inside the room. A case has been registered and investigation is ongoing.
