The Yogoda Satsang Society (YSS) launched a new meditation centre at Nalanda Nagar, Tirupati, on Saturday. YSS vice-president Swami Smaranananda officially opened the centre. He said, “A ‘guru’ dispels the darkness of ignorance and is also the silent voice of god.” Swami Smaranananda stressed that spiritual practice or sadhana cultivates qualities like compassion, forgiveness, and service. He praised devotees and donors for their contributions to the construction of the centre. The vice-president urged devotees to use the centre for ‘satsang’ (spiritual gatherings) and meditation. The event lasted three days and included training on Yogoda meditation techniques, group meditation sessions, spiritual talks, and initiation into Kriya Yoga.
