An explosion tore through Le Constellation bar in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, around 1:30 am Thursday, during New Year celebrations. Swiss police confirmed several people died and many were injured. The bar, popular with tourists, was engulfed in flames as emergency services rushed to the scene. Police spokesman Gaetan Lathion said, "There has been an explosion of unknown origin. There are several injured, and several dead." Operations and rescue efforts are still ongoing. The cause of the blast remains unknown. Authorities have closed the area and imposed a no-fly zone over Crans-Montana. Investigations continue to determine what caused the deadly blast.
