Rajampeta Joint Action Committee (JAC) has announced a dawn-to-dusk bandh on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. The bandh will cover the entire Rajampeta Assembly constituency in Annamayya district. It is part of their strong demand to make Rajampeta a district headquarters. The bandh was declared by Rajampeta Telugu Desam Party in-charge Jaganmohan Raju, Jana Sena leader Vellaturu Srinivasa Raju, and BJP leader Lokesh. They jointly announced the protest on Sunday, December 21, at the protest camp. These leaders appealed to educational institutions, government offices, commercial units, voluntary organisations, and the public to support the bandh fully. To mobilise support, banners and posters demanding a separate district were put up across the town. The team has already submitted representations to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and Education Minister Nara Lokesh. They asked the government to consider making Rajampeta the district headquarters. Organisers said Rajampeta is the main hub for nearby constituencies like Railway Kodur and Rayachoti. They added that creating a new district would make it easier for people from many mandals and villages to access administration. The agitation highlights local hopes of better governance and convenience through district formation.
