Hyderabad Hosts International Short Film Festival 2025 to Boost Young Filmmakers

Roads & Buildings and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy launched the Hyderabad International Short Film Festival (HISFF) 2025. He said short films give young filmmakers creative freedom to try new ideas and tell stories their own way. The Minister noted many top filmmakers started with short films. Hyderabad is now a major cinema hub, attracting talent from all over India. He called HISFF 2025 a great start for Hyderabad and Telangana. "Short films continue to be a strong platform for discovering new talent," he said. Komatireddy Venkat Reddy also said the Telangana government, led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, fully supports the film industry. The goal is to make Telangana the best state in India for filmmakers by easing permissions and improving infrastructure. He welcomed filmmakers from eight north-eastern States and said, "Hyderabad represents mini-India, and such festivals help bring the country closer." Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao joined the inauguration. Film Development Corporation Chairman Dil Raju, Managing Director CH Priyanka, festival organizer Uma Maheshwar Rao, and many filmmakers were also present.
